Dr. Brenda Hatley, DTCM is a California licensed acupuncturist and owner of Spot of Qi Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine in San Francisco. She splits her clinical time between her private practice and Crossover Health’s SoMA clinic, where she has provided integrative care for over eight years. Her experience treating musculoskeletal injuries, stress-related conditions, and movement dysfunction in corporate and occupational settings complements her work with patients in her private practice.

Brenda opened her private practice in 2012 after earning her Master’s degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2021, she completed her Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University, deepening her clinical focus and integrative approach to patient care.

She is a National Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and holds advanced training in orthopedic and rehabilitative care, including certification in dry needling through Myopain Seminars (CMTPT/DN), Corrective Exercise Specialist certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CES), and functional medicine training through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). Brenda also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language from San Francisco State University and spent a year studying abroad at Peking University (北京大学) in Beijing, China.

As a lifelong athlete and martial artist, Brenda has a strong clinical interest in treating sports injuries, chronic pain, and movement-related conditions. Her treatments often integrate acupuncture, dry needling, corrective exercise, Tui Na orthopedic massage, cupping, and nutritional support to promote efficient healing, improved movement, and long-term wellness. She also enjoys working with patients experiencing digestive concerns, stress, and anxiety.

Brenda’s life outside the clinic reflects her love of movement and creativity. She is a lifelong martial artist and former member of the U.S. Wushu Team, stays active through CrossFit, and enjoys teaching two-step and swing dance. Quiet moments often find her reading or knitting while enjoying a cup of coffee with a cat nearby.
