How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by correcting disharmonies in the body through the stimulation of specific acupuncture points with very fine, flexible needles. It enables your immune system to heal itself.
How many treatments will I need?
This is a tough question to answer, and simply: it depends. A general rule of thumb is, the longer you’ve had a condition the longer it will take to clear. Most patients begin to feel improvement within a couple treatments.
Does acupuncture hurt?
No, but you may have a mild tingling sensation, heaviness at the insertion site, a surge of energy, or you may feel nothing at all.
Is acupuncture safe and are there side effects?
Acupuncture is very safe. All acupuncture needles are stainless steel, pre-sterilized, non-toxic, and single-use disposables. The most common side effects my patients notice is extreme relaxation and improved mood. There may be some redness, bumps, or bruising at needling sites.
Do you accept insurance?
Spot of Qi is no longer in-network with any insurance provider. If you have insurance, I can provide a Super-Bill so you may submit it directly to your insurance for reimbursement. I also accept Health/Flexible Spending Account (HSA/FSA) cards for payment.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. No shows and late cancellations are responsible for the full cost of missed appointments. If you can’t make it, just send me a quick text, call, or email and I’ll help you reschedule.
